Labor Force Situation of Tarakan Municipality 2020

The Publication of the State of Tarakan City Work Force 2020 contains pictures and tables that describe the state of the labor force in Tarakan City in 2019. The data presented is collected directly by BPS (primary data) from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) which was carried out throughout the Republic of Indonesia in August 2020.The number of labor force in Tarakan City in 2020 reached 128,318 people, an increase of 7,239 people (5.98 percent) compared to 2019 (121,079 people). The number of people working in 2020 was 120,804 people, an increase of 6,139 people (5.35 percent) compared to 2019 (114,665 people). The number of open unemployment in 2020 was 7,514 people, an increase of 1,100 people (17.15 percent) compared to 2019 (6,414 people). And 21.92 percent of unemployment in 2020 is the impact of Covid-19. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Tarakan City in 2020 reached 5.86 percent, an increase of 0.56 points compared to the TPT in 2019 (5.30 percent). In 2020 Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair, and Maintenance of Cars and Motorcycles (G) is the sector that absorbs the most labor, which is 23.67 percent (28,598 people).
