Abstract

The economy of Tarakan City in 2024, measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 56.21 trillion, and at constant prices of 2010, it reached IDR 27.11 trillion. The economy of Tarakan City in 2024 experienced a growth of 5.71 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Tertiary Sector, which grew by 7.15 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) component, which grew by 8.29 percent.
In the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, the economy of Tarakan City experienced a growth of 5.17 percent (year-on-year). From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Tertiary Sector, which grew by 7.34 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Final Consumption (PK-P) component, which grew by 7.51 percent.
In the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the third quarter of 2024, the economy of Tarakan City experienced a growth of 2.53 percent (quarter-on-quarter). From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Tertiary Sector, which grew by 3.97 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Final Consumption (PK-P) component, which grew by 25.72 percent.
Spatially, the economic structure of North Kalimantan Province in 2024 is dominated by Tarakan City at 37.47 percent, while the smallest is Tana Tidung Regency at 6.20 percent. In 2024, the economic performance of North Kalimantan Province recorded a growth of 4.57 percent.
