Abstract

In October 2024, the year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Tarakan City was 1.74 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.53.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases reflected in the rise of expenditure group indices as follows: food, beverages, and tobacco by 2.81 percent; clothing and footwear by 0.03 percent; household equipment, appliances, and routine household maintenance by 0.81 percent; health by 1.40 percent; transportation by 1.24 percent; recreation, sports, and culture by 0.07 percent; education by 0.48 percent; food and beverage provision/restaurants by 0.35 percent; and personal care and other services by 8.13 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced a decline in their indices included housing, water, electricity, and household fuels by 0.08 percent, and information, communication, and financial services by 0.03 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rates in Tarakan City for October 2024 were 0.17 percent and 1.16 percent, respectively.
