Abstract

In September 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Tarakan City of 1.59 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.35.
y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverage and tobacco groups by 2.61 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.84 percent; health group by 1.18 percent; transportation group by 1.11 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.07 percent; education group by 0.48 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 0.35 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 7.28 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index, namely: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.12 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.03 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Tarakan City in September 2024 are 0.10 percent and 0.99 percent, respectively.
