Abstract

In March 2024, Tarakan City experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.00 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.11.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 5.12 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups at 0.54 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.59 percent; health group by 0.44 percent; transportation group by 0.48 percent; information, communication, and financial services group at 0.09 percent; leisure, sports and cultural groups at 0.15 percent; education group by 0.38 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.27 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 3.75 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in the index, namely the clothing and footwear group by 0.26 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Tarakan City in March 2024 are 0.10 percent and 0.75 percent, respectively.
