Abstract

In January 2024, Tarakan City will see year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 1.55 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.46.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco groups by 2.98 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups at 0.51 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.31 percent; transportation group by 2.14 percent; information, communication, and financial services group at 0.14 percent; leisure, sports and cultural groups at 0.15 percent; education group by 0.38 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.76 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.99 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index, namely: clothing and footwear group by 0.33 percent; and the health group by 0.03 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Tarakan City in January 2024 are each 0.13 percent.s health by 0.03 percent.
