Abstract

The number of poor people in Tarakan Municipality in March 2023 is 16.49 thousand (6.10 percent). In March 2022, the poor population amounted to 16.75 thousand (6.30 percent), meaning that the number of poor people decreased by around 260 people or decreased by 0.20 points.
The percentage of poor people in Tarakan Municipality (6.10 percent) in March 2023 is the third lowest in North Kalimantan Province, after Tana Tidung Regency (4.62 percent) and Nunukan Regency (5.53 percent). For North Kalimantan Province itself, the percentage of poor people is 6.45 percent.
In the period March 2022 - March 2023, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) has increased, from 0.73 in March 2022 to 0.79 in March 2023. This indicates that the average expenditure of poor people in Tarakan Municipality is getting further away from the poverty line.
In the period March 2022 - March 2023, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) has increased, from 0.13 in March 2022 to 0.19 in March 2023. This indicates that the inequality of expenditure among poor people in Tarakan City in 2023 will widen compared to 2022.
During March 2022 - March 2023, the poverty line (GK) increased by 5.97 percent, from Rp. 773,446 per capita per month in March 2022 to Rp. 819,621 per capita per month in March 2023.
