Abstract

North Kalimantan's economy in the third quarter of 2023, measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 36.48 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 17.66 trillion.
North Kalimantan's economy in quarter III-2023 versus quarter III-2022 experienced growth of 4.79 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement business field at 19.24 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component at 13.08 percent.
North Kalimantan's economy in quarter III-2023 to quarter II-2023 experienced growth of 2.51 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the construction business field at 8.66 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component which experienced growth of 5.29 percent.
North Kalimantan economy quarter I to quarter III-2023 versus quarter I to. quarter III-2022 experienced growth of 5.03 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, growth was driven by growth in all categories of business fields, where the highest was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement business field at 17.67 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component at 15.47 percent.
Spatially, the economic structure of the Kalimantan Island region in the third quarter of 2023 is dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 45.90 percent and the smallest is North Kalimantan Province at 8.74 percent. Apart from having the largest role, the economic performance of East Kalimantan Province was recorded as having the highest growth of 5.29 percent, while North Kalimantan Province was in second place with growth of 4.79 percent (y-on-y).
