Abstract

In October 2023, Tarakan City experienced year on year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.31 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.26. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan at 5.43 percent with a CPI of 120.87 and the lowest occurred in Jayapura at 1.43 percent with a CPI of 112.88.

Tarakan City in October 2023 experienced month to month (m-to-m) deflation of 0.13 percent and year to date (y-to-d) inflation of 1.65 percent.

Y-on-y inflation in Tarakan City in October 2023 occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in all expenditure group indices, namely: personal care and other services group by 4.25 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group at 3.83 percent; transportation group at 3.22 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.31 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.16 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.59 percent; education group at 0.44 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.22 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.21 percent; health group by 0.08 percent; and the clothing and footwear group at 0.01 percent.
