Abstract

The number of poor people in Tarakan Municipality in March 2022 was 16.75 thousand (6.30 percent). In March 2021, the poor population amounted to 17.57 thousand (6.71 percent), meaning that the number of poor people decreased by around 820 people or decreased by 0.41 percentage points.
The percentage of poor people in Tarakan Municipality (6.30 percent) in March 2023 is the third lowest in North Kalimantan Province, after Tana Tidung Regency (4.45 percent) and Nunukan Regency (6.13). For North Kalimantan Province itself, the percentage of poor people is 6.77 percent.
In the period March 2021 - March 2022, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) decreased, from 1.01 in March 2021 to 0.73 in March 2022. This indicates that the average expenditure of poor people in Tarakan Municipality is getting closer to the poverty line.
In the period March 2021 - March 2022, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) decreased, from 0.23 in March 2021 to 0.13 in March 2022. This indicates that the inequality of expenditure among poor people in Tarakan Municipality in 2022 is getting closer than in 2021.
During March 2021 - March 2022, the poverty line (GK) increased by 8.74 percent, namely from Rp. 711,268,- per capita per month in March 2021 to Rp. 773,446,- per capita per month in March 2022.
