Abstract

In February 2023, Tarakan City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.10 percent. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Kotabaru City at 7.88 percent with a CPI of 120.04 and the lowest occurred in Waingapu City at 3.57 percent with a CPI of 112.74.
Tarakan City in February 2022 experienced month-to-month (mtm) inflation of 0.09 percent and year to date (ytd) inflation of 0.41 percent.
Inflation in Tarakan City in February 2023 occurred due to price increases indicated by an increase in several expenditure group indices, namely: the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.64 percent; transportation group by 0.41 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 0.38 percent. Meanwhile, the distribution groups that experienced a decline in the index were: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.14 percent; and the equipment, equipment and maintenance group by 0.09 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that did not experience index changes were: the clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups; health groups; information, communication and financial services groups; recreational, sports and cultural groups; and educational groups.
