Abstract

In January 2023, Tarakan City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.00 percent. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Kotabaru City at 7.78 percent with a CPI of 119.97 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 3.23 percent with a CPI of 112.02.
Tarakan City in January 2022 experienced month-to-month (mtm) inflation of 0.32 percent and year to date (ytd) inflation of 0.32 percent.
Inflation in Tarakan City in January 2023 occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by the increase in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the personal care and other services group by 0.85 percent; food, beverage and tobacco groups at 0.82 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group of 0.26 percent; group of household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.04 percent; and the information, communications and financial services group at 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the distribution group that experienced a decline in the index was the transportation group by 0.16 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that did not experience index changes were: the clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups; health groups; recreational, sports and cultural groups; and educational groups.
