Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitoring the national CPI in December 2022, Tarakan City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.93 percent. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Kotabaru City at 8.65 percent with a CPI of 119.83 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 3.26 percent with a CPI of 110.95.

Tarakan City in December 2022 experienced month-to-month (mtm) inflation of 0.59 percent and year to date (ytd) inflation of 3.93 percent.

Inflation in Tarakan City in December 2022 occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the transportation group by 12.29 percent, the personal care and other services group by 8.27 percent, the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 6.44 percent, the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 3.03 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group at 2.60 percent, the health group at 1.70 percent, the housing, water, electricity and other fuels group at 1.22 percent, the information, communication, and financial services group at 0.81 percent, the education group at 0.77 percent, the clothing and footwear group at 0.69 percent, and the recreational, sports and culture group at 0.04 percent.
