Abstract

The economy of North Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2022, which is measured based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices, reached IDR 30.38 trillion and based on constant 2010 prices reached IDR 16.38 trillion.
North Kalimantan's economy in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the second quarter of 2021 experienced a growth of 4.91 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the accommodation and food and drink provision business sector of 10.94 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth in the Export Component of Goods and Services was 6.48 percent.
North Kalimantan's economy in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2022 experienced a growth of 2.64 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Government Administration business field of 12.13 percent. From the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) grew by 53.78 percent.
North Kalimantan's economy in semester I-2022 compared to semester I-2021 grew by 4.73 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, growth was driven by the growth of almost all business fields, the highest achieved by the Retail Wholesale, Car and Motorcycle Repair business field of 10.76 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth in the Export Component of Goods and Services was 7.69 percent.
Spatially, the economic structure of the Kalimantan Island in the second quarter of 2022 is dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 53.47 percent and the smallest is North Kalimantan Province at 7.06 percent. The economic performance of Central Kalimantan Province was recorded as having the highest growth of 7.31 percent with a role of 11.40 percent, while North Kalimantan Province was in third place with a growth of 4.91 percent (y-on-y).
