Abstract

Tarakan City's economy based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached Rp 10.94 trillion and based on constant 2010 prices reached Rp 5.91 trillion.

Tarakan City's economy in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared to the third quarter of 2021 grew by 1.86 percent (q-to-q). Growth was driven by almost all business fields, where the highest growth was achieved by the Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling business fields of 8.62 percent.

Tarakan City's economy in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 grew by 6.49 percent (y-on-y). Growth was driven by almost all business fields, of which the highest growth was achieved by Wholesale and Retail; Repair of Cars and Motorcycles by 13.16 percent.

The economy of Tarakan City in the first quarter to IV-2021 quarter I to IV-2020 grew by 4.02 percent (c-to-c). Growth was driven by almost all business fields, where the highest growth was achieved by the Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling business fields of 9.44 percent.

Spatially, the economy of North Kalimantan in the fourth quarter of 2021 grew by 7.08 percent (y-on-y). Tana Tidung Regency grew the highest at 9.47 percent; followed by Malinau Regency by 8.79 percent; Bulungan Regency by 7.24 percent; Nunukan Regency by 6.79 percent; and the last is Tarakan City by 6.49 percent.

In North Kalimantan, the economic contribution is still dominated by Tarakan City at 38.10 percent and the lowest is Tana Tidung Regency at 6.04 percent.
