Tarakan, 24 December 2021 - BPS of North Kalimantan Province and the University of Borneo Tarakan are collaborating in improving literacy and fostering statistical activities which will be realized in a service called Statistical Corner. Thursday (23/12), at the University of Borneo Tarakan, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Cooperation Agreement between the BPS of North Kalimantan Province and the University of Borneo Tarakan regarding the Statistical Corner was carried out.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation, University of Borneo Tarakan, Dr. Ir. M. Djaya Bakri, S.T., M.T., hopes that with this collaboration, the flow and regulations for obtaining data will be easier and faster. Then, the Head of BPS for North Kalimantan Province, Tina Wahyufitri, S.Si., M.Sc., stated that the Statistical Corner service is collaborative, involving BPS, academics as statistical agents, and students. In the BPS environment of North Kalimantan Province, students are a potential data user segmentation because about a quarter (24.05 percent) of statistical service users are students.
The services provided in the Statistical Corner at the University of Borneo Tarakan are in the form of Statistical Promotion through the dissemination of information on BPS products and services through publicity media as well as infographics, posters, leaflets and booklets; Virtual reading room through BPS electronic publication reading service; Statistical consulting; and Statistical education through general lectures, as well as education on activities and other statistical production. It is hoped that this collaboration will have a positive impact on academics to build a better Indonesia.
